Hey, I'm Josh! I'm an Arizona native who has too many hobbies including enjoying the outdoors, camping, cooking, books, research and I really love being a therapist. I graduated with my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and have worked in residential treatment centers, intensive outpatient programs, as well as in general outpatient settings.

I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, suicidal ideation, self-harm, as well as certain personality disorders. I've worked with individuals, couples, and families, and my therapeutic philosophy is that I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.

I believe in being up-to-date on the latest research on testing, methods, modalities, and theories. I'm continually trying to better myself and how I practice. I have formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and have experience using Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Logotherapy.  I believe in cultivating an environment where you can feel confident and in the loop with your treatment, as well as in the power of humor and the healing potential of laughter (when used appropriately).

The best work between a client and therapist takes place when a trusting relationship is formed and when both the therapist and the client earn each other's trust. I'm excited to be part of the Better Balance Psychiatry team and look forward to serving you!
