I grew up in southwest Missouri where I attended and graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelors in Psychology. After graduating I began working in a social setting detox before becoming a certified substance use counselor and working with adults in both the residential and outpatient settings. After seeing the further need for not only more help in the field of addiction services but mental health overall, I returned to Missouri State University to complete my Masters in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling. During this time I relocated to southern Utah where I completed my internship at a residential treatment center specializing in working with adoptive teens. Over the years I have gained a wealth of knowledge by working with people of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences. This has led to a deeper view in creating a well-rounded and unique balanced treatment for each individual I work with.
I believe it is possible by providing each individual with a personally tailored treatment, they can develop the skills they need to identify and accomplish their personal goals. I believe in the importance of getting to know each individual as everyone has their own story to tell.
Outside of work I enjoy sports, whether it is playing or just watching, traveling, and learning to cook new recipes.
